I really enjoyed The Winds of Power: The Sleeper Prophecy. It is a mix of sci-fi and fantasy that isn't my normal genre yet I'm glad I read this book because it's well written, insightful (an example being the quote I started with from the novel), and the book kept me turning the pages. I particularly like the mix of fantasy and sci-fi combined with metaphysical, strong friendships, and an overall sense of care and respect for your fellow 'beings' (in this case, no matter what planet the 'beings' are from). The author does a good job helping to build visual images of the unique, alien worlds and characters, and I was able to follow along with 'who was who', growing to understand and care about each character, even those that were non-human. I like how the main character, Aiden, was able to continuously tap into his own powers to astral travel and use his energy to heal. This is a very good YA read and I think readers who enjoy young adult/fantasy/adventure would like this book. I look forward to the next book in the series.… (mehr)
