In collecting some of the major primary sources in the history of Christian missions, F.M. Dubose’s (ed.) Classics of Christian Missions (1979) presented these texts during the renewal of Christian missions in the 1970s. The editor had chosen texts around theological and practical views of missions, plus from different literary genres (biography, letters, journals, and sermons). These sources came from the whole gamut of church history and diverse church and denominational backgrounds. Missionaries, historians, and missiologists will benefit from reading this book. The editor included a large bibliography (up to the late 1970s) and index in the book.
