Technical book about Bagration Operation, the biggest defeat of Germany in the WWII. Full of details, few maps.

The core of this book is the author's examination of the Soviet army's force structure and mobilization in World War II, and how this linked to the ebb and flow of combat on the Eastern Front. One can't help but come away being impressed by the level of information collected and coalated. However, as has been noted, the editing leaves something to be desired. My favorite gaff is the reference to "Operation Barbarous" at the head of Chapter Five, instead of "Operation Barbarossa;" there are limits to editing by computer spell-checking. Still, if this book probably wasn't worth fifty bucks in hard cover it is worth your time in the economy paperback version.½
