Kurzbiographie
Elysabeth Eldering has been writing for about five years, seriously for about three years. Since entering her first contest in 2005, she was hooked. With a shared second place story, the idea developed for a series based on the original story, turning her love of travel into a fun, mystery geography series. She has placed second on two stories and first on one story which was selected and published in the Fast and ... contest by Echelon Press.

Ms. Eldering's other interests include volunteering in the schools, working with students and being a supportive band parent of her two teenaged children. In the fall, she can be found traveling the state of South Carolina following marching band competitions. When she's not on the road, she works at home as a medical transcriptionist. Elysabeth is also a member of her state writing group's local chapter, South Carolina Writer's Workshop (SCWW), and the local chapter of Sisters in Crime.

I am giving this short story 4 stars for originality first. I have never in my life. And I am still pretty pissed off by the ending of this story. This was crazy. Down Right Crazy. Did I say Crazy? I want to go up there and remove one star but I can't because I actually liked that the author went THERE. No, I do not like the ending but I liked that for once a short story had an original ending that really got me. I just want to know why the Hell? Good story!

As a kid I used to love learning about the states that make up our wonderful country. The capitals, state animals and plants are interesting and unique to each state. The history and peoples make our country unique and diverse. State of Successes is a fun and informational way to get kids interested and learning about the 50 states that make up the great USA.

Young readers will have fun with trivia and clues to help guess the states. Play along with Matt, Guy, Jolene and Mary Beth as they discuss and doodle the clues. Interesting facts about the history of each state truly bring each states history to life. The bantering and mischief while reading along with Matt, Guy, Jolene and Mary Beth, will have readers giggling as they learn.

The back of each states workbook has a ton of helpful resources so young readers can find more information on their own. Discussion questions are also included to get students involved and enhance learning and retention. Students, parents and teachers will find these workbooks fun and easy to use.

Also included is a study guide. Each guide focuses on a particular state. Students can create research projects, learn more about the states history, work on craft projects from that region and play games and work puzzles. This series created by Elysabeth Eldering is wonderful. Its easy to use for students working alone or on a team. The resources listed are extremely helpful for teachers and parents. This series is an excellent way to get students engaged in learning about the states.

Thirteen-year-old Kelly wants to save the old houses her father is supposed to tear down. She has managed to do it once before. Now, in her new neighborhood, she feels compelled to do it again.

This is a fun story about a young girl finding her way in life. The paranormal twist adds mystery and suspense to this young adult drama.

I enjoyed Kelly's spirited independence. I would have liked more development with the parents' characters and their relationship with Kelly. But, overall, this is a fun read that is great entertainment for young teens.… (mehr)

Having a birthday on April Fools Day can make a fun time for celebration an agonizing day each year. Stella has this dread of her special day thanks to her mother. Stella remembers going to school with purple hair because her mother put purple die in her shampoo. Tonight is really special to Stella. It's her 25th birthday. Her boyfriend Henry, who she has been with 5 years is taking her out for a romantic dinner. Unfortunately her mothers shenanigans have turned a simple romantic dinner with Henry into a night Stella won't soon forget.

Elysabeth's wonderfully humor filled story will have readers riding along the characters roller coaster of emotion. Its great to read a short story that doesn't feel like a short story. I love the characters and wanted to learn more about them.
