The Amish Prodigal Son by Ashley Emma is book five in The Amish Bible Story Series. This is a series that modernizes parts in the Bible. They are stand alone stories that teach good lessons. This story shows how following your dreams affects so many people other than yourself. It also shows the hurt that others experience when truthful communication doesn’t take place. I enjoyed the characters of Theo and Evelyn. I admired Evelyn for waiting so long for him to return. Theo’s parents are very remarkable, with how he just left and did not stay in contact with them. Yet, when he returned home, they welcomed him and rejoiced in his return.

I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review.

This book was a clean Amish read. The book was more about the "English" side rather than the Amish as it featured a young woman who had been badly injured and aside from the obvious physical injuries also suffered from a serious case of amnesia. Staying with Jeff, whose occupation was in law enforcement and his sister while she struggles to regain her memories, there are more attempts at her life and safety.
The story is engaging and enjoyable and you come to really like the characters that are in this story.

I was somewhat able to relate to the amnesia as I had a slight case of it, wherein I was unable to recall the accident I was in and the frustration that brings with it.

I love Amish stories and this story by Jennifer Beckstrand did not disappoint. I love the mischievous Amish twins, Alfie and Benji, who are always good at those necessary matchmaker needs. If love doesn't go as it should, you can be sure twins are on it! True to form, a fun and sweet Amish romance as told by Jennifer Beckstrand.
This story was one of ten delightful Christmas Miracle stories and so fun. A second chance for Jerry and Mary. Will the twins succeed in their sneaky plans or get themselves in trouble, as usual!

Truly a sweet and tender story mixed with some humor. Although I am reading it after the holidays, it is every bit as good as before. I recommend these sweet stories and hope you take the time to read them!

I received an ebook copy from one of the authors with no expectation of a positive review. All thoughts are my own.

Abraham and Sarah's Amish Baby, by Ashley Emma, is the first book in The Amish Bible Story Series. This is a modern day twist on the Bible story of Sarah and Abraham. This couple marry later in life and are unable to have a baby. When one just shows up at their door they keep the child and raise him as their own.
This is a nicely written, quick to read story. I enjoyed reading this story and reading how the couple dealt with the loss of their parents and constant let down of miscarriages and failed adoptions. This story does point out how far someone would go to get what they so desperately want. When the baby is left on their doorstep they did not follow through on legalities, but instead lied to people about the baby. I felt sorry for Sarah and the pain she must have felt with the loss of their parents and and having to move to get away from the memories.
I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this story from the author. This is my honest review.

The Amish Author’s Christmas by Ashley Emma is a sweet Amish tale. I thought it contained good writing and the story moved along at a steady pace. The characters were relatable and friendly. I enjoyed the descriptions of Unity, Maine. The author really brought the area alive. I can see why people would want to take Amish buggy tours there. I thought the buggy tours were a great idea. I had not heard of them previously nor read about it in an Amish story. I liked the Miller family. They were such a kind family with a deep faith and big hearts. I had to laugh at Ivy’s questions about the Amish and their traditions. She really had to clue about the Amish. I enjoyed watching Ivy change as she spent time with the Miller’s. I did feel the romance between Ivy and Isaiah was a little rushed, but it was sweet. I loved the stories ending. The Amish Author’s Christmas is a story about kindness, community, faith, forgiveness, hope, and love. The Amish Author’s Christmas is a feel-good Amish novella a bevy of baked goods, two sweet sisters, an assertive agent, a pushy publisher, inspiring inspiration, and a cheery Christmas.

The Princess and the Amish Pauper is book three in The Amish Fairytale Series. This story focuses on two you ladies that look alike from different worlds. Damaris is Amish living in Maine and has always wanted to go to Germany. Arabella is the daughter of a bakery giant in Germany and is being forced to marry a man she doesn’t want to. She sees Damaris online doing a news article and travels to meet Damaris and talks her into trading places.

This is a fun story to read. I was waiting through most of the story to see how it would turn out without someone getting hurt. This is a well written, fun, sweet story to read. It had enough mystery written into the story to keep me wanting to read it.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review.

The Amish Beauty and the Beast, by Ashley Emma, is book two in the Amish Fairytale series. Belle has recently moved to Unity, Maine to live with relatives. She has heard about the monster, Cole, that lives in the mansion. But when she gets lost going home from the book store, her buggy has an accident near his home. What she finds is a gentle caring man who was severely scarred in the military. He hires her to help care for his grandmother and his home.
This is by far one of the best books I have read recently. It is a good clean romance with so many good messages hidden in it. The story is a good reminder to not to listen to gossip ,to communicate better and to work on relationships. It also touches on struggles people have from issues in their past as well as disability and moving forward. I especially loved the gentle touches of the the dog and the rose in the story. I just love how strong Cole's grandmother is and the love the two share.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

Amish Snow White: Amish romance by Ashley Emma
Book starts out with other works by the author and how to get copies when you sign up.
Special thanks and how to connect with the author.
Story starts out with Adriana and she's rushing to her sister's house when she's learned she died in an accident.
She thinks otherwise, so does the housekeeper but she's there to tend to her niece. She does get to spend some time with her but Henry the step father tells her to never return.
As she's leaving town after her life was in jeopardy she is in a car crash...Dominic is the one who comes to her rescue.
Story also follows he and his family on the Amish farm. We learn that he's recently returned to help his mother and family as his father has passed away.
His sister wants him to marry her best girl friend but he wants no part of that. His sister was devastated when he left the farm.
Dominic is drawn to Snow as she prefers to be known as when she comes out of the concussion but she can't recall what her name is even...
We are also learning new things about the Amish as the story goes on. With Dom's background n the police she helps him figure out how to get the latest will of her sisters and get her niece and software company of her sisters back.
Snow is afraid others lifes will be in harms way because of where she is located now.
Love how this all comes together. So much to this story, romance, intrigue, mystery, thriller high tech items-what a shock that was.
Glad to see how it all played out, no predictable.
Excerpt from Amish Alias is also included.

Amish Snow White, by Ashley Emma, is book one in the Amish Fairy Tale Series. It is also a great stand alone story. This is a really good book with good messages. Adriana’s sister dies in an accident, which Adriana is not convinced is just an accident. Fearing for her niece’s life she tries to get her away from her brother-in-law until it becomes evident her life may be in danger. She flees the area and ends up in an Amish community, where she has an accident and gets rescued by Dominic.

Dominic is a young widower who has moved back home to his family. He is not ready to move forward with his life, until he gets to know Adriana.

I enjoyed reading this book. It is an easy to read story that is easy to get lost in. The characters are well developed, caring people. The story is well written so it is easy to envision what is happening and the surroundings. I especially enjoyed the mystery, suspense and the developing friendships in the story. I received an ARC ebook copy of this story from the author. This is my honest review.

More twists and turns than bag full of bobcats. An interesting evocative tale with a look into the Amish tradition. I guess it's hard to understand their traditional approach when compared to our modern lives and distractions. I do admire their devotion to God, Bible Study, and family. It is hard as an outsider to understand people that don't pursue a criminal.

Amish Amnesia, by Ashley Emma, is book 3 in A Covert Police Detective Unit series. Jefferson has recently return home from a tour in Afghanistan and is on leave from his job as a Covert Police Detective. His father has recently past away so he and his sister are staying at the family home in Kennebunkport, Maine. He witnesses a young couple arguing in a car, the women got out of the car and hit by the car. He takes her to the hospital. When she wakes up she has no memory. Someone gets past the guard to get to her. Jefferson and his sister offer to take her to their home and watch over her. With the police forces short staffed, it is allowed. He soon figures out someone is still after her and he needs help. So he calls in a friend.
This series is so good. It is fast paced, full of action and suspense. I found myself wanting to just keep reading this series to find out who was after the girl and who she was. I really enjoyed how even through she has no memory, she knows how to cook and has feelings that point to her Amish upbringing. I did however, wonder if this type of informal police action does ever take place.
This series does not need to be read in order. But since the book does reference characters from other stories, I feel it is best to read them in order and even read other series to fill in gaps and backgrounds. .

Amish Under Fire, by Ashley Emma, is book 2 in A Covert Police Detective Unit series. Maria Mast left the Amish community with her young son after the death of her husband. She is now living with the English hiding out from an abusive ex-boyfriend. He finds her after she helps out at a bank robbery. With her help, the Covert Police Detectives arrest him for sex-trafficking. Feeling she is now safe, she goes home to Unity, Maine. But trouble just follows her.
Detective Derek Turner goes along to help protective her. This same sex-traffic ring killed his wife years earlier. He has not been the same since and finds his faith returning in the Amish community.
This is a great series. It is the first Amish crime series I have read and it pulled me in right away. By the time I was reading this book, I did not want to stop reading. The Amish live a simple life and rely on God instead of the legal system. Yet they live a hard life, without modern conveniences. The author writes so clearly it is easy to imagine the people, surroundings and situations. The characters are well introduced, strong characters. The author has written these stories so they do not need to be read in order, but there is mention of characters in earlier books. I have not read the books on Freya yet, but I suspect they could be read prior to this story.
The author generously gave this ebook to readers. I was not required to write a review.

Amish Amnesia is the third novel in A Covert Police Detectives Unit, but it can be read as a standalone. I thought the story was nicely and it proceeded at a steady pace. I liked the characters with Estella being my favorite. She is upbeat with a zest for life that is infectious. Estella provides some humorous moments. Jane’s life is in danger and Jeff is trying to keep her safe. It does not help that the man after her is wily and familiar with forensic countermeasures. The mystery provides suspense and intrigue. There is an attraction between Jeff and Jane plus Ben and Estella. Jeff is interested in Jane, but he is afraid that she could have a boyfriend or husband plus he does not want to let his feelings get in the way of keeping her safe. Jeff also feels guilting for the people he killed while serving in Afghanistan and for his fellow soldiers that did not make it home alive (feels he should have done more to protect them). Jeff’s insecurities and feeling were realistic along with Jane’s amnesia, feelings and flashbacks. Amish Amnesia is a clean romantic suspense novel with a charming beach cottage, a sick stalker, threatening missives, missing memories, swimming in the sea, and two potential couples.

Before I actually begin my review, let us remember that 1 THESSALONIANS 5:17 instructs us to:

“Pray without ceasing.”

This is precisely what the Amish are recognized for doing in their lives and if they can do it; we should try and begin emulating their example.

All of the prayers the authors of this book, Ashley Emma and Grace Given, given thanks and praise unto the Lord for what He’s already done for us, as we beseech Him to help us improve our lives so we can better serve our family, our community and most important to serve Him in the manner we should.

We [especially mothers] beseech Him for guidance in all sorts of matters from better management of our time and money to better raise children to improve/simplify our lives to serve others better as we progress getting closer and closer to the Lord.

Granted while our lives and harried with all the things we’ve got on our plates; we still need a moment or two so we can speak to our Creator and fill our minds and hearts with His presence, satisfying ourselves spiritually.

The brief prayers, being offered by the authors in this book, which we can read one per day, are designed to fulfill this need quite sufficiently, which is why as a reviewer of Christian book I’m gratefully giving them the 5 STARS they deserve for his endeavor.

AMEN !!!

I have been on an Amish kick lately but I've also been wanting some suspense, so I picked up Undercover Amish, and it is exactly what I was looking for. After reading the prequel, The Amish Schoolteacher's Escape (which you can find my review for HERE) and being underwhelmed, I wasn't sure if I should take a chance on the series, but I am so glad that I did. Undercover Amish picks up right where the prequel ends, but gives you the details behind Olivia Sullivan's actions, which has been hinted at, but getting the full picture truly implicates and justifies Olivia's actions.

Feeling the frustration that Olivia felt drew me in, as well as falling in love with Isaac Troyer's character. One thing that truly set this story apart for me was the shattering of the illusion that the Amish are perfect. Yes, they set a high moral standard, but they are human nonetheless, and have flaws just like everyone else, and these flaws are perfectly pictured in Undercover Amish.

As far as suspense and intrigue, this story as it all in spades. A great plot, wonderful flow, and endearing characters made this book a winner. With such a "killer" start, I can't wait to read the next book in the Covert Police Detective Unit series.

OH I LOVED THIS NOVEL!! Now I need to add some Amish and Christian authors to my fan base as the story was a REFRESHING change of pace! I liked that Maria Mast was smart enough to run from her abusive boyfriend as she feared that one day he'd keep his word and kill her leaving her son without a mother. I LOVED that Agent Derek Turner learned to love again after his wife had been murdered for revenge since he was the one to put the creeps brother away with a very long prison sentence. Someone is stalking Maria and her son and they have to duck and dodged as the stalker seemed to be one step ahead of them all the time!

Amish Under Fire by Ashley Emma is the second novel in Covert Police Detectives Unit series. Maria Mast and her son, Carter have been running from her abusive ex-boyfriend for two years. After helping thwart a bank robbery, Maria ends up on the news and Trevor quickly tracks her down. Maria contacts the Covert Police Detective Unit in Portland and Agent Derek Turner is assigned the case. It turns out that Trevor is involved in a human trafficking ring and they can use Maria’s help in finding the ring’s headquarters. The sting does not go as planned, but Trevor does end up in jail. Maria then feels free to return home to Unity with her son, Carter. Someone, though, is after her and they mean business. Derek and a fellow agent are assigned to protect Maria and her son. They even wear Amish clothes, so they can blend in with other people in the community. Derek means to keep Maria safe especially since it is the same men who killed his wife, Natalia. Derek is drawn to the peace of the Amish people, their sense of faith and to Maria. Will they succeed in catching these dangerous men? Is there a chance of a future between Maria and Derek?

Amish Under Fire is well-written and an engaging story. I was drawn in to this romantic suspense book from the beginning. There is plenty of action that keeps the reader moving steadily towards the end (in other words there is a steady pace). I could feel the suspense and tension. The romance and conclusion were expected, but it did not hinder my enjoyment of Amish Under Fire. My favorite part of the story was the theme of forgiveness. It is a challenge to forgive someone who has harmed you, but it will certainly lighten your burden. Amish Under Fire can be read alone. I have not had the pleasure of reading Undercover Amish (first book in series) and I had no trouble with Amish Under Fire. If you are looking for a different type of Amish novel, then pick up Amish Under Fire.

Finding Forgiveness by Ashley Emma is a young-adult Christian novel. Nichole Carson lives with her mother and abusive father in Brooklyn. Her mother has decided it is time for them to flee and they make their escape plans. Unfortunately, he catches them sneaking out during the night and he is enraged. Nichole grabs a knife when she sees that he is going to kill her mother, there is a struggle and he falls onto the knife. The death is ruled self-defense, but Nichole still feels guilty and like a murderer. Helen, Nichole's mother, and Nichole head to Maine where they live with her Aunt Lynn and Uncle Dean. Nichole starts Montgomery High School where she meets twins, James and Janelle Johnson. They are Christians and the local pastor's children. It is a new experience for Nichole. Nichole's dream is to be singer and songwriter. The twins invite her to play with them and they are amazed by her talent. While Nichole is friendly with them, she does not feel she can share her deepest secret. After getting a laptop as a gift, Nichole begins chatting with a classmate online. As their online relationship progresses, Nichole feels comfortable sharing her secret. When the anonymous classmate asks her to the prom, she eagerly agrees and cannot wait to meet him. Nichole thought she left her nightmare life behind in Brooklyn, but a new one is awaiting her at the prom.

Finding Forgiveness is nicely written and it has a steady pace. There are good messages in the novel with my favorite that God forgives us of all of our sins. Nichole has not had an easy life with an abusive father and then his death weighs heavily on her conscience. Meeting James and Janelle opens up a new door for Nichole. The road to believing and redemption, though, is a bumpy one. I thought the characters were realistic as well as the situations they experience. The situation with the chat room is very real. Teenagers do not realize the dangers and they refuse to listen to adults and well-meaning friends (I know from experience). The ending will have you smiling. Finding Forgiveness is a lovely Christian novel that is perfect for the young adult audience.

It's not that this short story is badly written, it's just......its not well-written.....the story tells of a woman who accidently hits and kills an Amish man as she is running away from her abusive fiancée. She leaves the scene but returns a few years later to put flowers on his grave. The story would be good if we could see what she did in the years in between, her thoughts and how the hit-skip effected her life; if she kept running from her boyfriend. But the author left out a lot of details. The story also ended very abruptly.

The premise is that a former Amish woman who has become a CPDU operative is asked to go back to her Amish community and work undercover to determine who killed one Amish man and injured another. Since the Amish don't report most crimes within their community to the police, CPDU rightly assumes that they will talk more to someone they think is one of their own than they will to a known police officer.

The author attempts to head off protests of things like the Amish aren't really like that or Police can't really do that by writing an introduction insisting that she thoroughly researched Maine's Amish and that she made up a police unit so that she could have them do things in the ways she wanted them to. This was so lengthy that it almost made me feel like "she doth protest too much". Most of the stuff I could overlook, but I really struggled with the CPDU allowing Olivia and Isaac to be partners when they are also a married couple. Most agencies seem to frown upon that because the emotional entanglement of having someone you love being in danger can cause problems during a case.
