R. C. F Maugham

Reginald Charles Fulke Greville (1866-1956) changed his surname to Maugham in 1905, possibly because he was the illegitimate son of a prominent Irish politician. RCF Maugham, a career British foreign service officer, became the Secretary to Nyasaland Administration in the late 1800s, also holding posts in other colonies in Africa.

In this book, he summarizes his observations and his experiences about the portions of Africa in which he lived, in which he knew. He provides a succinct summary of the histories as well as some splendid old photographs of the area.… (mehr)
