La cautivadora historia de un joven pionero altruista dio lugar al nacimiento del llamado movimiento timurita a lo largo de toda la URSS, protagonizado por organizaciones juveniles como los Jóvenes Pioneros o los Pequeños de Octubre.

A book in Estonian, translated from the Russian, and a story for children. The attraction to me was the front cover in pink, white, brown and green, showing an old semaphore signal, single track and a steam train disappearing into the distance

'School' is a tale of the Russian Civil War of 1917, experienced by a 14 year old boy, Boris, the narrator of the book. Boris abandoned his school for joining the Red Army, the resistance formed by the proletariat people for establishing a true socialism. This book is mostly a description of the comradeship between the soldiers in the battlefields, who had no training, no chain of command, who just kept fighting for their freedom but, nevertheless, it also shows the problems erected in an unorganized post czar Russian society. A spontaneous and vivid narration, making it a great book, especially for the children. A recommended one I'd say.
