Sarah does what most of us do. We do what we need to do to get by. She has a job with a rugby team and she pretty much has her head on straight. That is until she agrees to do a job and runs straight into Dylan. I love Sarah because she is a no holds bar kind of girl. She reminds me so much of my best friend that it is uncanny sometimes. I see myself in her throughout this entire book. She isn’t afraid to be who she REALLY is, the hell with what society has to say.
Dylan is a by the books kind of man. Don’t get me wrong, he is very much an ALPHA man – just by the books. I love him because he is different. He isn’t your “typical Alpha,” but an Alpha nonetheless. Sarah is the total opposite of everything Dylan stands for – yet he is drawn to her – common sense be damned. He has a guarded soul. I mentioned that first, because I believe the way to Dylan’s guarded HEART is through is soul. Sometimes they are one in the same. His past has made him block himself to one of the greatest things that life has to offer – LOVE. His job allows him to keep those walls & even helps him maintain them. As the wife of an Army man – I know how easily it is for these guys to think that because of their jobs, they are unable to have families. The Military is demanding and most of the time, we come second.
The journey the two of them embark on to “find one another” is simply touching. Donna Gallagher wrote a romance so realistic that I literally felt every emotion from the characters in the novel. I felt like it was a far fetched “instant love” story and I was able to get behind the characters and what they stand for. The love the two show, the trials and tribulations they go through, and the very struggles that define them, touched me in ways that a back hasn’t touched me in awhile. This story alone convinced me to go back and read books 1-5. I love a story that pulls me in and holds me captive until the very last word. Donna did just that & I loved every single second of it!… (mehr)
