* MYSTICAL TREASURE HUNT * ILL-SORTED STRANGERS * * IMMINENT BLIZZARD * MURDER IN THE MIDST
I received a copy of Cooper’s Loot by Rick E George from BookSirens in change for the following honest review made of my opinions.
When I started the book I was not sure I would finish, The begininnig was slow-moving and elusive. Not often does one hear of a group of ill-sorted, strangers hooking up in a dive bar, where they plan a spontaneous risky adventure to the sparsely inhabited Cascade Mountains. Particularly when a hellish blizzard is imminent in the next 24 hours. And to do What? H unt for the fabled loot of DB Cooper, hijacker. Despite my premature conclusions, I read on. Three hours later I am struggling to put the book down. Wow what a page turner!
Set in 1972 the tale is listed in the Historical Fiction genre. Despite the weak start, and sparse character history, Mr George does a phenomenal developing the characters through conversational dialogue. Additionally, the accurate physical location information as well as the description of the merciless weather conditions and consequences entices the reader to join the escapade
I elected not to go into more details of the plot, hopeful that I have tempted you to read Cooper’s Loot yourself! Happy Reading!… (mehr)
