It's true that Latawnya is a very naughty horse. But I really found that she was more a caricature than a nuanced character. All we know is that she's naughty -- we don't ever find out what shaped her as a young foal and made her turn naughty. And I hate to think of an entire generation of children helping their horses smoke drugs and drink because this book planted ideas in their heads.
