As tour brochures go, this is quite a nice example, Not simply filled with photographs; no, no, no! this quality booklet was designed for a generation who know how to read (as long as you can still read small print). Although the program is a fair size, some of the print is microscopically small (even by my standards). Of course much of it is very silly indeed!
One nice touch was that if you flip the booklet over (a la ACE doubles) you are faced with a totally different (well almost) booklet entitled 'Monty Python through the ages' or is that '...through the STages'? either way, it's a sort of scrapbook of their live shows from 'Oh Hampstead' in 1970, through 'Live at the Hollywood Bowl' in 1980, to the 'Monty Python: Live (mostly) One down five to go' show in 2014.
I did feel that 20 quid was a little steep for a tour guide; but, they also had a hard backed version on sale at an extortionate 50 pounds. I had to have a quick flick though at the merchandise stand just to convince myself that it contained the exact same content as the softcopy. It did; which made me feel slightly better at forking out 20 pounds... On reflection; I think it was a bit of a confidence trick to be honest. ;)… (mehr)
