An ambitious debut with original ideas, a gripping plot and so many great characters that you can’t help but fall head over heels in love with.
Inclusive with a variety of LGBTQ, Spanish, black and different characters.
The writing wasn’t perfect but not terrible, it was overly descriptive with way too many metaphors, yet had no description for the characters, leaving it confusing and difficult to picture. I still have no idea what half of the characters look like, and only knew what the author intended Lee to look like because of the cover, before that I was picturing an extreme “werewolf in pop culture” which is how it was originally described.
The pacing is a little off in places, jumping around a little as it seemed to rush through places then seemingly lose momentum.
Still it was enjoyable and fun, and I absolutely love Alex and Lee, and care for the entire Underground.
When will I learn to check if books are standalone or end on cliffhangers.. I can’t wait for the next instalment!
