Her novella alone makes this anthology worth the buy. Having read book 1 in her series Fae of Bitter Thorn (which I absolutely recommend), this was a wonderful expansion - and a total surprise! - of the events that happened before that book. We got insight on so many things that led to Elora entering the faerie lands to help Brannick, and learned that they themselves don't know the actual truth of what went on. I thoroughly enjoyed this novella, so much so, that I'm thinking about rereading The Court of Bitter Thorn again just to continue the journey in that world.
Review for Night Bringer by Stacey Trombley:
Not having read the series this preceeds, I can't comment on how much of a boon it would be to fans of the Wicked Fae stories. On its own, it tells of a girl who is so eager to prove herself, to save her fallen court, that she bargains with a devilish monster to do it.
It's an interesting tale, posing evil options disguised as choices, and sacrificing heart for for survival. It'd be interesting to see who Caelynn turns out to be after the events here.
Review for To Rule A Fae Throne by Tessonja Odette:
This was my first taste of a book from this author, and though it was brief, it was enjoyable. The banter between the king and his court had me audibly giggling at times, and I'd be curious to see if that feel continues onto book one. We were given a glimpse at the strife between courts, even between family, but very little to go on there except to explain some of the discomfort seen in their customs. Either, this appeared to be a good entry into yet anothrt appealing fae series.… (mehr)
