Hazel Grace

I would definitely say "Catfish" had it's pros and cons, and I can honestly see why readers would be drawn to it. I just didn’t love it or hate it. The plot was interesting and refreshing, but it dragged out and I was hoping to see more development between ‘Chase’/Reagan/Wade. About ½ half through the novel, it felt more like a chore to read and I was kind of over it already. There wasn’t a whole lot going on for about 70% through yet the banter between the leads were my favorite scenes that pulled me through to the end, but like I said, it was a drag. Nevertheless there is potential and I look forward to the sequel to see how it pars with this one.

Where do I begin?

I was all excited to read this after the way that the first book ended. I had loved the dynamic and chemistry between the characters. However, this sadly dropped off. There was so much going on that it detracted from the actual story and what made me fall in love with these characters in the first place.

I almost quit reading at one point because these characters were off doing their own things and it seemed pointless. Then, Wade decided he was going to get back to reminding Reagan who she was playing with. I WAS all excited to only have my hopes dashed again, with so much family drama that did little to enhance the story. I still don't understand the whole reason behind Demi or even the way that the ending came together.

That being said, I was interested in Marty, to an extent, but I am also frustrated because his part in this duet left me really confused. There is A LOT going on in this story, and not all of it was necessary. I hope that won't be the case for his book. I appreciate this author and all of her hard work (and stunning covers), but this book didn't connect with me the way that I wanted it to. However, that is the beauty of books, because even though this one was a miss for me, it will be a favorite of someone else.… (mehr)
