Lois Grant

Lois Grant has written an easily read guide to common types of manipulative personalities and how to handle them. This book is of use all who have to manage a variety of personnel in an organization, or to those who are in a bullying, abusive, or manipulative relationship with others. Grant offers simple, direct advice about how to deflect the abuse or manipulation while maintaining the dignity of both parties.

The author organizes the book around a couple dozen "types" to which she gives the names of fairy tale characters. I found that this did not work for me. The type names often appeared arbitrarily applied. The reader will most likely not be in a relationship with every type that the author presents. Thus it is up to the reader to pick and choose from among the strategies that are on offer.… (mehr)
