Kelsey Hall

Across Carina by Kelsey Hall is one of the oddest books I have read but it doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it, it just means it is hard to make a review from it. It is a fantasy, yet could it be metaphysical? It has lots of aliens, mythological-type creatures, gods, battles, growing up along the way in the adventure, down the rabbit hole type adventure... strange but good. I liked the imagination, the prose of it but it was long.... very long and seemed to drag a bit. The main character was not likable at all. The story was written as if it was made for preteens but it had teens in it so I am unsure of the audience she was after. It was too fanciful even for my love of fantasy to be wild about it but it was worth the read, an okay story.… (mehr)
