Disappointing. I found his tales of being the "face of the plucky British" to be more interesting than his combat memoirs. I think a table of names and who they were would have helped. In addition, a fleshing out of the combat actions with post WW2 research (who what when why) would have provided more context. As it was, it was just "lots of sand, drove around a lot, died, wounded, off to USA."
