Ìtàn: Part I is a combination of an art book, using Yoruban artistic techniques, and a well written creation story, also using Yoruban literary style. I bought it, sight unseen, as I loved Stephen Hamilton's artwork. He learned Yoruban textile work and carving in order to keep the feel of the book strictly correct.
