2588 Islands at the Edge of Time: A Journey to America's Barrier Islands, by Gunnar Hansen (read 5 Mar 1994) This is a 1993 travel book written by an Iceland-born author. I'd sooner have read, I think, about Iceland. He tells of visits along the Texas, Louisiana, Alabama-Mississippi, and South and North Carolina coasts--to "barrier" islands. I am not really too interested in these islands. I hoped to gain some knowledge of Yamacrow Island, after reading Pat Conroy's account of it, but it is of course unmentioned.
