It's no secret that little ones love dinosaurs, and this is a cute rhyming story about dino friends. There's a goofy UFO, mean old aliens, and a silly plot with a kid-friendly lesson about different dinos having different skills, and perhaps why big kids shouldn't pick on their little siblings. And fortunately for moms, aunties and grandmas who are reading this one aloud to little dinosaur-loving girl, there are female characters in this dino crew!

The story, about the value of not being like everybody else and accepting others' differences, is good and has a somewhat imaginative villain. The illustrations are colorful and cute. The writing is amateurish, however, which drags the whole thing down. It is one of those books that seems as if it took the author no longer to write it than it does the reader to read it.

The Honk of Zagonk
Colorful children's imagery book about dragons and the yearly games they are in.
They come from all over the world. Frost giants freeze the dragons flames. The dragons all laughed at Zagonk.
Will Zagonk be able to use his flames. Reason I liked this story was because even though they laugh at him one time
he can prove they won't be laughing any more at him.

First, I could not resist the cover of CASSIE AND THE WILD CAT HOST A GHOST. The expression on the cat says “You gotta read my story.” So I did.

Second, this is the first book written by Author Pat Hatt that I’ve read; it won’t be the last. The characters are priceless. Who can resist a cat with spotted fur or a cook that says his food is making the cat fat. From the very beginning I was laughing. Add the Wild Cat and a ghost, and it’s no-stop fun the rest of the way.

From the smiles on the cats’ faces to the cutest ghost I’ve ever seen, the illustrator, Mohiuddin Ahmed, captured the characters perfectly. The poetry of the author and the actions of the characters blend together beautifully. And the plot of the cats helping Boo, the ghost, to get home provides a subtle lesson.

CASSIE AND THE WILD CAT HOST A GHOST is a lovely book that would be perfect for school libraries, as well as your own.
