Mads Hobye

I don't normally add PhD dissertations to my bibliography, but this one is an exceptional case to me (and it is freely available in final form). As I see it, Hobye's work represents the state of the art in one line of design-led academic research, where a substantial portfolio of high-quality design work is used as the basis for abstracting insights of significance to the design-research community. In Hobye's case, the portfolio consists of interactive installations for public spaces, and the insights are framed as a manifesto on designing for curious, engaged and explorative use.
