This book was written by a retired SAS officer who had a long time friendship with Meadows. This book’s title implies that it will cover Meadows as a Special Forces soldier but more accurately it reveals his work as a lifelong military and covert intelligence agent. This is an unusual tack to take but it makes the book very unique as most American authors would have undoubtedly focused on his military exploits. Thus The Quiet Professional is one of the few books which covers how the work of Special Operations members (operators) make many contacts and cultivate them over many years. This book also covers Meadow’s family and business ventures to help round out a man of personality and normal home life. Very little of the Son Tay is given but this is made up for by the nice work on the Tehran hostage rescue attempt. The author tries to make a case for Meadows going to Peru and setting up a security company to deal with kidnappers and build a buffer with the narcotraficantes.
