If you like dark romance but hate romance this might be for you. No romance, just a continuous cycle of abuse. Not the sexy kind of abuse mind you, just disgustingness. The heroine, who i didn't like and found very wishy-washy, was treated worse than a dog. The plot, such as it was, I found rather preposterous.

Perhaps things will improve in the next volume? We can only hope.½

Love! Love! Loved it!

This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I didn't know if I wanted to scream, cry, punch someone or murder a few people the whole time. The twists and turns in this book were amazing. I absolutely loved the entire book and I didn't want it to end. 10/10.

Although there were many good parts to this book, they were far outweighed by the problems with the characters and plot points I couldn't get my head around.

If you want to read it go ahead. I am just going to say that the heroine does not get better. If you like how she is, then enjoy the feast of horrors that is heaped upon her.

I just wished with all my might that the heroine would lose her 2014 New Adult Billionaire Romance heroine attitude and just grow a brain. TSTL is being nice.

Read the warnings on this book. It has triggers like you won't believe. Even the trigger warnings should come with trigger warnings.

You know that material they've developed that's so black it absorbs light? Well, that stuff is a little ray of sunshine compared to this book. Poor Anna. She never stood a chance at any kind of normal life. She was brutalized from the age of 16, and horrible stuff happened even before that. Jack and Devin deserve even more than they actually get. What they put her through was well, there aren't even words. Books 3 and 4 get really dark, and in a series that's already dark, that's pretty hard to do, but it manages. I basically cried the whole time I read them.

Anna does manage to get her happy ending, but oh man, it is a hard, hard, hard road.

Wow

If you've read Life of Anna, you know that Marissa writes super dark. However, Sabrina may be even darker than Anna. Make sure that you heed the warnings, if you don't like dark, this is not for you.

Sabrina is a ballet dancer. When she is 16, she is taken by Vamar because of her partial Immortality. He wants to control her because he can control the world through her. He tortures her and warps her mind.

Meanwhile, Chase, Sabrina's handsome soldier, has been searching for her for years. She promised to wait for him, but he never heard from her.

This book is amazing. Marissa has outdone herself and has a winner on her hands. My only problem? Now I have to wait for the next one to come out.

Follow-up story to Life of Anna. It's done in an interesting style, and I'm hoping it will bridge into more in that world. It gives a good look at how Devin became who he was.

Amazing

Marissa Honeycutt writes stories that are dark but have light in them. This one is no different. Such a great story with so many layers. I cried while reading but then smiled through the tears.

Having read Marissa Honeycutt's books before, and loving them, I knew this was going to be dark. I thought that having read Life of Anna that I could probably guess what was going to happen. But then I read the first installment of Sabrina's story. Then I read this one. I'm thinking that Anna might look at Sabrina and feel sorry for how hard she has it.

After being missing for 5 years, Sabrina managed to escape and has made it back to Boston. She wants to find Chase. It isn't until she gets to Boston when she realizes that maybe he's married, and she doesn't want to ruin his life. She'll just go try out for the ballet company and hope that she can stay away from Chase and his family.

Chase has spent the last several years trying to find Sabrina, but after so long, his hope has faded. But when he finds out that she's back in Boston, his hope flares.

I knew that this book was a serial, since that's how Marissa Honeycutt tends to write this particular world. However, that doesn't mean that I didn't want to curse her name at the end of the book. Poor Sabrina. I'm so devastated for her. I'm so angry for her. She's had to go through more things than any one person should. But, she's also a lot stronger than she thinks she is. I would love to see Anna get together with Sabrina and help her out a little because Anna is probably the only person living who could come close to understanding what's going on. Chase is a good and honorable man. I think that he's so good for Sabrina. She trusts him and I hope that she can let that trust carry her through.

The next entry in Sabrina's story cannot come soon enough for me.

5 I never want this series to end stars

This was just a short book that gave insight into Devin from The Life of Anna series. It continues its dark theme. I am not sure why I love that series as much as I do considering how dark it is but its unlike anything that I have ever read. I never want it to end. I'm looking forward to it continuing with the Elder-Mistress.

The Life of Anna is a long, dark, beautiful, erotic journey. Be sure to read the warnings before you start this series. If you are brave enough to continue, I promise it will be well worth it. Marissa has created characters so deep and real, they stay with you long after the story ends. Each book is a few shades darker than the last, making the conclusion that much more rewarding.

I'm writing this review after finishing the entire series, and this is one of my favorites of all time. From the first book, I couldn't put it down. I tried to completely forget about real life because I was so caught up in this book.

If you like dark books, you'll love this.

I almost never read books a second time, but I know I will read this one again.

This was an interesting story. I am still a bit in shock over how this ended. It is a dark read but for the most part not as twisted as other dark reads.

Five stars! People have given this book five stars. WTF?

I'm not religious. I'm not anti-porn. I'm not even conservative. I believe that you can pretty much write and publish anything that you want and let the buying public determine what's worthy of their cash. That being said, this book is nothing more than adolescent porn dressed up like a novel. A Fifty Shades of Grey wannabe. It's not even well written porn. It's the kind of stuff that teenage boys with raging hormones fantasize about. I made it through sixty five pages before I got bored, and gave up. That anyone could give this book five stars is astounding!
