A short history of the Curtiss CW-21, a lightweight fighter that was a technological dead end, but found customers in China and the Dutch East Indies, which were desperate for modern aircraft. The story of the CW-21 was not a happy one, and after giving the story of its development and sales, this book mostly tells the story of desperate struggles against far superior Japanese forces in 1941.
The book is richly illustrated and the pictures are good. A few are really rendered too small. The text is in an easily readable but markedly non-native English.… (mehr)
