This was an entertaining book, the best I can say about it is it was written by someone who lived during the reign of Queen Victoria and didn't have to rely on written records to describe the Queen to the reader. That being said, it's another book about Queen Victoria, she's interesting but how many books do we actually need on this one monarch, especially when it's mostly rehashing things we already know. I enjoyed the fact that the author used quoted correspondence between Queen Victoria, her family, and the peers of the realm when possible to make her see more real and less of an unreachable figurehead. For that reason as well as the fact it was written by someone who lived during her reign are the reasons I gave it 3 stars.… (mehr)
