It is funny how books can spark vivid memories. An elderly Scottish aunt, Aunt Madge, gave me this book in 1959. It was in the back garden at home. She asked me to go and find a pencil to write my name in the book. I went into the house, found a pencil and scribbled my name down. She was none too pleased and added her name in pen underneath, dated August 4th 1959. I wasn't interested in dogs then or now.
