Mysterious powers, intricate plots, and secrets.

This is an odd book, that seems to drop you in at the beginning of what might be the third chapter, instead of the first. You feel as though you're playing catch-up, trying to understand the events that occurred before the story began, even as the main character reminisces about them.

Yet you do catch up, and are swept into the story, trying to figure out, just as the main character is, what's going on, what this strange power he has is, and where it came from. You're never sure whether his family is worthy of the regard he has for them, who the real bad guys are, or where it's all going to lead. An engrossing and fascinating story, well worth reading.… (mehr)
