I really wanted to enjoy this book since I'm a big fan of Fiddler On The Roof. I was in the play during my days in Jewish Center Youth in the 1970s, have the soundtrack from the movie and know all the song, and have seen the movie numerous times. I don't know what I was expecting but it got tedious after 100 pages or so and I gave up.
It also got very repetitive with the comparison of the movie vs. the play vs. Shalom Aleichem's stories it was based on. Her repetition of speeches at various events were repeated throughout the part of the book I read.… (mehr)
