Sexcee Jackson

This book grabs you from the very beginning of the story. This is my first time reading Sexcee Jackson and I was impressed! I don't want to give anything away to spoil it for the next reader. She has all the elements for a great drama and suspense and you will not be disappointed.

I loved how parts of the story are told from each characters perspective, giving us further insight into their actions. The twists and turns keep you locked into the story turning page after page.

Ms. Jackson's brilliance is further displayed in the story line where she has educated characters who seemingly act contrary to such in there personal lives. However, I feel that she has shown us what W.E.B. Dubois has explained in his theory of the duality of personalities that many African Americans have to live when dealing with their career and personal lives also called "double conscience. Her characters show how this theory is played out in the younger generation, years after Dubois'. We may be educated but we are a generation brought up in the rise of hip hop which gives us an additional language and flair.
