A Kindle Book. I downloaded this story as escapism fiction, looking for an extension of the Hammer's Slammer's universe. It told the story of a unit modeled on air cavalry, fighting in an irregular war, against insurgents. It is written by an Army junior officer, and is very credible about combat. The book was poorly edited, perhaps because it is mostly on-line, or in Kindle format, but sometimes it seems the author does not care about the wording. Good, strong characters, lots of acknowledgment of homosexuality in combat.… (mehr)
