Brooklyn Turner's life was upended at 6 years old when her mother's killer abducted her, but she managed to cause him to crash and foiled his escape. Fourteen years later, Brooklyn is still struggling with what happened but has held herself together enough to get into college. When she accidentally trips over a fire hydrant and it carried to the health center by Finn, she wants to hate his arrogance but, at the same time, can't help but be attracted to him. After several suspicious incidents begin happening to Brooklyn, she can't rule out Finn as a suspect.

Like Gravity is a very predictable new adult romantic suspense story with cliched characters and a simplistic plot. While there are a few enjoyable moments and some humorous banter, there just isn't anything unique to make this book stand out from countless others with the same premise. Overall, Like Gravity is a disappointing attempt at romantic suspense.

Ugh. DNF at 20%. And it started so well, but I saw the end coming:

At 19% in, I begin this review with a series of, I suppose they're warnings. It started well, I was enjoying it. But it's getting unbearable. I can tell I won't finish reading it.

1) This is in the kind of first person present tense that makes people hate that choice in novels. I roll my eyes as I protest, 'no one narrates their life like that, Julie.'

2) Even this early in, our MC, the heroine, has already declared no fewer than three times that she doesn't have the mental and physical reactions to men (or women, I assume) that others seem to. Insta-interest in the hero is shocking. Okay. Okay... OKAY I GET IT. I don't identify with it at all (it makes me think she ought to be something supernatural, TBH), probably because the interest for just the hero takes the monogamous theme to an extreme I can't identify with.

3) I'm really done with the gorgeous billionaire trope.

4) There are some not so nice bits; heroine disses sex workers. The horrible ex is overweight as well as horrible.

5) At 21% in, the heroine's thinking about her 'humans as art' theory (in the annoying narrator way), and I... ugh. It's just terrible. She's supposed to be an artist, a painter, yet doesn't base her theory on techniques but rather mediums. It makes no sense to anyone who knows anything about art.

6) Barely into chapter 11 (of 33) I'm bailing. MC equates attraction with weakness. That's it. I'm out.

End of the trilogy.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine. The heroine end up engaged to another man and there is a kiss though not much detail.
HEA.
Epilogue.

The author apologized for the delay in the release of this book and I know at times circumstances affect it being possible to stick to dates but for me I think the delay spoilt the book.
I normally don't read a series of its cliffhanger endings until all the books are out, but as this last book was available on pre-order on Amazon I thought I'd be okay, lesson learned.
I had forgotten who everyone was and I felt it was slow. The pop up of a character was predictable from book 1 and it is implied there is a secret about the intended groom which was pretty obvious.
Most of the book is the heroine sad and depressed and in the end it made me feel that way too.
I was originally enjoying the series so maybe if a reader reads it in one go it will fit together better.
