The author has some interesting points - the dearth of research on the connection between human biology and human culture, the banality of the current diversity regime, the irony of a diversity regime that is truly frightened of what it is to be diverse. He is also not arguing for a return to Jim Crow, the Third Reich, or institutionalized bigotry.
Still, Mr. Kalb makes repeated appeals to transcendence and to revelation, and sets up a number of straw-man arguments against what he calls scientism. Very few scientists would agree that science is the source of all that we known about the universe. Having said that, we should be interested in evaluating and testing ideas about culture, religion, society and relationships. And we will be surprised by what such a scientific approach reveals about humanity, and we will be disappointed that such investigation disagrees with our cherished notions of humanity.… (mehr)
