I have to admit I have limited tolerance for the flesh-eating walking dead. The genre quickly became overblown and overdone. But the storyline here intrigued me, and I'm glad I ignored my zombie aversion.

There is a lot to like about this book. The main characters are likable humans, doing their best to fight a raging viral epidemic that looks more like war than a health crisis. The plot has a lot of intricacies that made me think and could be applied to many issues in life. The characters' back stories are woven in, allowing me to get to know what they were like before the epidemic.

I have one complaint. The plot felt a little scattered. The main concept is an excellent one, but it lacked development and got lost in too many smaller offshoots. I wanted the main storyline more refined.

Overall, this is an enjoyable story for lovers of zombie fiction, as well as readers who just love a good story.… (mehr)
