The title of the book ‘ The Proposal ‘ is interesting.

Book Cover :
The book cover is an art image of a Couple dressed up in an Indian Wedding attire where the man is proposing the woman for marriage.

Plot:
The story starts with the wedding alliance that an elderly couple selects for their younger daughter. A typical Old fashioned wealthy family is who is now almost bankrupt and the plan made to clear off the debts is the main subject of the story. Getting the daughters married into wealthy families to clear the debts has been an old practice since ages. The same situation is faced by the female protagonist in the story. She shows her reluctance in marrying a stranger to save her own family and faces a lot of emotional blackmail from the family. The story concludes on how she manages the whole situation.

What I liked:
1. The female protagonist’s fight against the age-old traditions in the name of family name & status
2. The male protagonist’s approach towards the female in convincing the marriage.
3. The bond between the female protagonist and her elder sister.

What I didn’t like:
1. The length of the story could have been longer.

The final twist in the story relieves the reader’s curiosity in a surprising way.

Characters:
The characters are aptly scripted with engaging emotions.

Narration:
The narration is simple and good.

Language and Vocabulary:
Lucid language is used.
