The test is finally come to figure out who can make it into the hunter’s guild. This book doesn’t go all the way through the task. Its 130 pages of Hunter’s Guild and the last 70 pages were two stories that have nothing to do with this book. One story is about hermit crabs that grow and start taking human houses, and the other one is romantic comedy. I had someone ask me if the series was canceled and it feels like maybe it should be. Nothing happened in book 2. They didn’t even finish the test which only lasts for two hours so to me this volume was unsuccessful and I have no desire to read the rest.… (mehr)

3.5 rating for this! So apparently this series got canceled, which was understandable after how the first two volumes were. You can very much tell it got this "ending" because it was canceled, seeing how abrupt it felt. But as the ending, the author did a complete 180 and just went completely off the wall with it. This final volume felt like it was supposed to be the final volume in a 100-volume series, akin to Naruto or Bleach, not the third volume. This volume had some fascinating concepts and plot ideas in it. Nothing felt like it was fully thought out, just written with the idea of "I wonder how f*cking crazy I can make this final volume?". This was the first volume (and I guess the last) where I was actually interested in what was happening and wanted to know more. This ending was kind of sloppy and pretty god damn slap-dash, but it definitely was a wild ride. Talk about going from zero to a thousand.… (mehr)

I am wavering between a 2.5 and a 3 rating. This entire volume only focused on one event which is the "Disembarking Event", for the most part. There is SO MUCH talking and "We're stronger because of our friendship!" time of speeches. This entire thing is giving me way too much My Hero Academia or even Naruto energy. It felt like it went on forever, and I felt myself getting increasingly bored as I keep reading. This is a huge pity because a few pages at the very start of the volume were VERY intriguing. I was VERY curious about what was going on with those three characters and their conversation. I was far more interested in finding out what they were talking about than any interest I had in what the main character was doing. The rest of the volume just felt bland and like every other shonen that came before it. (Also why are the two female teachers, both of whom are muscular, being drawn like...that...If you told me their designs were from an H manga, I would fully believe you. Yikes.)… (mehr)

My rating was a solid 3 throughout the entire volume until the last two pages, which bumped it up to a 3.5 for me. Velou is a young boy who lives in a secluded mountain village that finds its occupants being terrorized by a werewolf. No one can seem to kill this werewolf, and more people get eaten each day. In the village's desperation to finally be free of this werewolf, the mayor hires a hunter from the famous Hunter's Guild. The art style is fine. It has a very sketchy feel to it, which is cool sometimes, but other times looks like a hastily done draft that got published as the final one. The overall designs do remind me way too much of My Hero Academia at times, but that might just be the character designs. The world designs are really cool, and that is a major plus. The plot of this is fine, but the majority of the first half of this volume is taken up by a single event. It feels like that part of the story went on forever, meanwhile, the back half of the volume's story felt like it flew by. There is a significant plot twist-esqe cliffhanger at the end, which is what makes me want to know what happens next. This is a pretty decent series starter, even though the plot feels a little weirdly paced. Minor nitpick, but I really don't understand the part of the plot blurb that says "In a world where fairy tales are fact". Asides from some characters having the names of a few fairy tale characters or their aesthetics, nothing about this screams "fairy tale retelling".… (mehr)
