This book consists of material blatantly plagiarized from the herpetological literature. The chapter on viviparity is stolen from the 1985 review that appeared in Biology of the Reptilia vol 15, edited by Carl Gans and Frank Billett (Academic Press). The chapter on parental care is taken from a major 1988 review by the same author. Each of the other chapters can be traced to other primary and secondary works in the herpetological literature.

That the authors have stolen this work and presented it as their own is unconscionable, and must be attributed to the weak nature of international copyright laws. That they have profited financially from their intellectual theft is reprehensible. This book should be boycotted as the stolen property that it represents.… (mehr)
