Really there's nothing all that radical about what Schopenhauer thought, and I think thats a bit of my disconnect with him (and this piece here in particular; where the author tries to get you to view Schopenhauer in a better light and that he's a better philosopher than he was).
He basically completely cribbed from Kant - just making his philosophy [Kant] and combining all that Kant wrote with Plato's ideal of forms, and then throw in a sprinkling of Hinduism/Buddhism and call it a day.
