Less dull than the first volume, mostly because of subject matter. The first volume is all the long genealogies. This volume covers the reign of David to the anointing of Solomon. In contrast to Kings, it exalts David and does not mention the rebellions or personal incidents in his life that were less than admirable (such as the matter of Bathsheba's husband). It also reports unanimous acclaim for and acceptance of Solomon.
