Brie Kraus

I received a copy of this book for review by the author. The overall story itself is a cute idea and carries you through the book. It does need a lot of editing for the grammatical errors and some small inconsistencies. It was hard for me to get into it for a good half of the book because everything seemed so quick and cliche and it really read like fanfiction. I think a bit more fleshing out of the characters themselves as well as them getting to know each other would really help with the pace. I felt like I knew nothing about the characters for a while and Emma's character (18) seemed so much younger than Jules who was described as in his mid-twenties at the beginning but then 20 later. I do believe that there is a good story here. It just needs more fleshing out and a lot more editing. Otherwise it was a fun and cute storyline to read. I'd say I'm at about a 2.5 rating but with some editing it could easily be a 3.5.… (mehr)

I wanted to like the story, and for the most part I did, but the grammatical errors really ruined it for me. There was a run-on sentence, but then there were multiple instances where a sentence would end in two periods or instead of an apostrophe a quotation mark was used. About 9% into the book we have the following: "...that didn't seem to belong:. one..." There were also a couple of times where it said Emma' instead of Emma's. Some of the sentences seemed really long and probably should have been broken up, and at other times I felt there was an overuse of semicolons and commas.

The story itself was good and it moved along quickly. I would recommend having it edited though to clean it up a little. If it was, I would rate it higher.
