Full Contact is an apt title for this collection of stories, because I felt like I was right there with Zach through it all. While on the surface this is about a man who fights for a living, the layers beneath offer so much more. We see a man on the brink of love and loss, life and death. We go with Zach as he struggles to find his place, to gain his footing in a life that is constantly knocking him off balance.

I want to stress that this is not a novel, but a collection of stories. It doesn't flow from scene to scene in the way of a traditional novel. Each chapter is a separate story. There is cohesion, with certain threads following through from one story to the next. But each chapter stands very much on its own.

This collection offers us a glimpse into the world of professional fighting, as well as into the heart of a man.… (mehr)
