Contains a lot of good information on other biographies and autobiographies but had little from Southern Italy, which is my main area of interest and research. Read as part of my effort to understand the origins of my Italian and Italian American ancestors

This book is a very good review and study of Italian-Americans, the impact of WWII on them and their communities, as well as Italy. Plus there are some excellent stories about Italian-Americans' roles in the WWII. A very worthwhile book.
Thirteen chapters of oral history by various Italian-American immigrants. If you enjoy oral histories, as I do, then this is a wonderful volume. A far more unvarnished truth than in text books. Organized by some basic work, I found it an excellent compilation.
