It was alright. Basic paranormal love story. Nothing that particularly stands out. The romance happened pretty quickly. I liked all the characters. But there was no real depth to the story.

This book had potential. I liked the beginning when they meet and start to fall for each other and have a "fake" wedding. I liked when news of that "fake" wedding got out and paparazzi started to be an issue so she had to go to NY so he could help her hide out. But after that, there wasn't much to the book. She has a couple of interrupted dinners with him. The other 23 hours of the day, she's bored sick. Then he one days blows up at her and accuses her of being a gold digger. She goes home. He follows. They get married. That's basically all that happens. There probably should have been a lot more explanation of just about everything. We actually get a better sense of her relationship with her bodyguard. So for a romance, this wasn't very romantic.

While it had a hot scene, it was disappointing.
Way to short and took to long to get anywhere considering there wasn't but about 40 pages to start with.
Didn't like how it ended.

Not a bad book - in the end, it's very slow and politically motivated and also - who cares that much about rugby to have nearly an entire chapter on the subject - I sure as heck dont - if the pace was faster and not such a slow burn I'd have liked it a lot more!

Small town romance - I felt like the small town atmosphere was amazingly well done, having come from a small town it's 100% true that everyone is all up in your business - the bridge club seemed like a gang almost - for real, was funny though, one small thing can turn someones life upside down and not exactly for the better - though the MCs were great and sweet to eachother, overall it was a good read

I loved this book! Very good story, good writing, good characters.
Don't want to give anything away but it was a very quick, easy, satisfying romance. Will definitely be reading more by Krista Lakes.

Great book!! Nora, the butler’s daughter, has had a crush on the youngest son, Jonathan, for years. Even though she’s been right in front of him, he’s never seen her. When she goes back home, the unthinkable happens! He finally sees her & is paying attention!! Is this her chance?

Christopher has known for years about Nora’s crush on his younger brother. The whole estate has known. Now, Jonathan is paying attention & Christopher has to keep them apart. Jonathan is engaged & a business deal hinges on the relationship. How hard can it be? After all, he knows her better than anyone.

This was a really good book. The love triangle really seemed the work in this case. Jonathan wouldn’t be a good match for Nora. She was just too used to her crush to look around. I was actually a little irritated by her total fixation on the wrong man but it’s because I felt Christopher was the better match for her from the beginning. I love Ms. Lakes’s books. She has great character development & they are always enjoyable to read.

In true Krista Lake fashion, she writes a sweet love story between two unlikely people. This is the first book of the Kinds of Love series that I have read. It is the third in the series but is a complete standalone. I have read all the Kisses series and enjoyed them and I can see that this series will be just as sweet as those ones were.

This book had a great group of secondary characters. I enjoyed watching Bonnie and Dylan interact with Tyson and how they helped him overcome so many fears. The entire foundation being one about helping foster children is dear to my heart as I was a child of the system until I found a forever home.

Bonnie was very likeable and had her secrets. Dylan. That was a sweet man. Together they were perfect for each other. Bonnie wanted to be safe and Dylan wanted to protect her. Ms. Lakes can write some steamy moments and she didn't let us down in this story. The story had an awesome epilogue that warmed my heart.

My reasons for marking this down to 4.25 stars is because there were several occasions where the POV was off and that distracted me. I also wanted a better resolution to the situation that Bonnie had been running from. So much build up to that pivotal point and then just a slight passing over it in conclusion.

I received a complimentary Advanced Reader's Copy via Hidden Gems in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for the opportunity.

Plans are made. Hearts are broken and love is found. Jackson and Emma approached love backwards, but eventually got it right. He needs a family, she needs cash. What began as a business deal becomes more than they ever thought possible. Love is surprisingly on the horizon. Until secrets get in the way. Although theirs is a relationship of convenience, it turns out to be anything but. The Billionaire's Baby Arrangement is a fistful of romance with a flavorful sprinkle of heart.

Move over Hallmark, Krista Lakes is making her move. Love Under the Mistletoe is all heart. Holly and Nathan are the best of what makes romance great. A handful of heart, a dash of magic and a whole lot of love.

Ms. Lakes has written a wonderfully cheesy Christmas romance that follows the classics. As the Grinch, you have boring, grumpy, hardworking CEO Nathan. The heroine is the overworked, happy Teacher of the Year Holly. Holly has won a free weekend at a fancy ski resort & a fancy party where her award is celebrated. After her friend & coworker succumbs to food poisoning, Holly runs into Nathan on the ski slopes & they end up having a great weekend. Now, the weekend is over & the real world creeps in. Can they find a way to be together? Will Nathan realize that money isn’t everything?

I really enjoy Krista Lake’s writing & character development. What really stood out here is Nathan paying attention to what the kids wanted & needed. The interactions between Holly, Nathan & the kids in her class really made the book. I really expected Lucy to have an epiphany & change her ways but I had no trouble disliking her & her lack of loyalty to Nathan. The interactions between them didn’t come across as boss & employee but rather that she crossed the line. The romance was sweet in the beginning & ending and had plenty of heat to keep them warm.

The best laid plans, right? Jackson has dug himself into a PR nightmare. He’s enjoyed his playboy lifestyle - no strings, a different girl every night - but it’s not the best image for the CEO of a baby company. After this last stunt, his board of directors wants to fire him from his own company! His public relations expert told him the only way out of this mess is to marry a nice, sweet woman & have a baby. Of course, his mind goes straight to Emma.

Emma is working as a barista in the coffee shop in Jackson’s building. She’s trying to work her way out of the mountain of debt she’s in so she can go back to college. She enjoys the light hearted flirtation she has going with Jackson but she knows she isn’t his type. When he approaches her with a way she can get out of debt, she jumps at it. Can they really keep this light & businesslike?

I like Emma’s character. She doesn’t let anything get her down. She does begin to feel bad about the arrangement & wonder what her mother would have thought of it. Jackson is selfish & appears arrogant but never treats Emma like that. The chemistry & feelings nag between them are apparent from the beginning & you can sense them growing stronger. I like that Emma holds Jackson accountable & doesn’ give in to him because he has money. This was a very enjoyable read!

Krista Lake has taken an old classic tale & given it her own twist to modernize it. She's taken the basic plot & character structure and has expanded upon it to give her readers three dimensional characters with wonderful interactions. The chemistry between Aria & Henry is intense! Another entertaining story by an excellent author!

**I received a review copy of this book in exchange for an honest voluntary review. All opinions are my own and not influenced by my source.**

I'm a sucker for anything remotely related to Pride and Prejudice. Retellings, adaptions, inspired by, if it lists Pride and Prejudice somewhere in the synopsis, you bet I'm reading it!

Mr. Darcy's Kiss is the first modern full-blown retelling I've read. It follows the original work pretty spot on in terms of events and notable scenes. There are some great modern twists along the way--ones that I thought were pretty creative and very reflective of how society works today compared to Austen's time. Basically everything you love (and perhaps hate) about Austen's original masterpiece is here in one way or another. I think it goes to show the timeless nature of Austen's work that it can be transformed nearly 200 years later and still provide fantastic entertainment.

Even knowing the plot and the direction the story was going, I still found myself captivated to see what would happen next. Krista Lakes does a good job of spinning the story to work as a modern retelling.

I swooned the entire time I was reading this. When Charles and Jane first meet? Swoon! When Darcy can't keep his eyes off of Elizabeth? Swoon. This book just made me happy the entire time I was reading it.

All the characters have the charm and charisma you expect and love (or possibly hate depending who the character is). It was just great to get lost in their lives and all the shenanigans that ensue!

It takes a lot of guts to retell one of the most classic and admired love stories and I think Krista Lakes succeeded in bringing a modern Elizabeth and Darcy to life for readers to once again enjoy!

REVIEW: “He could see how much her work meant to her and how much it hurt to leave it. She was passionate about something. He was searching for that feeling himself…” Dylan has retreated to the mountains for Colorado hoping to find a new meaning for his life. Bonnie is on the run from the mob when her car breaks down near the camp for foster kids. Bonnie’s work experience with Sensory Processing disorder let her fit in immediately, both with the kids and Dylan. Little Tyson steals the story and adds the depth that makes this book enjoyable. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

DESCRIPTION, NOT REVIEW: "I thought you were beautiful the first time I saw you in the rain..."
Dylan:
The sudden death of Dylan's father was a wake-up call.
After pouring a decade of his life into his company, Dylan felt like had nothing to show for it. No wife, no kids, no family. With no destination in mind, he sells his company and wanders the world, eventually finding himself in Silver Springs...
Bonnie:
Bonnie Kincaid is also on the run... for her life. The police can't keep her safe. Things look hopeless when her car breaks down in the remote mountains of Colorado. A handsome man rescues her, fixes her car, but also gives her a reason to stop running. For the first time in a long time, she feels safe.
Unfortunately, both Bonnie and Dylan's pasts catch up with them, and in order to put down roots to grow a family, they have to stop running.
But they aren't finished with her yet...

An Endless Kind of Love is a steamy romance between two people that are both running for different reasons. Bonnie Kincaid is on the run until her brother testifies against a small mob. They've burnt down her house & she's trying to stay safe so they can't use her safety to get him to change his testimony. When traveling, her car broke down on a mountain with no traffic. Can things get any worse? Oh yeah, it starts to thunder & rain heavily. She has no clue what she's walking into when she spots a light in the woods & heads to it.

Dylan Abbott is helping his friends out at their camp for foster kids when she walked into his life. He was captivated from the moment he saw her. Dylan was never sure if people liked him for himself or for his money. He had developed a computer company & had just sold out for more money than he knew what to do with. He's running from his past life & his total absorption in work but isn't sure what he wants to do next.

To call this book a part of a series is a bit of a misnomer. It is truly a stand alone loosely connected with the other books. This was a perfect combination of danger & romance. If it weren't for the danger, they'd never have met. Ms. Lake does an excellent job of taking two unlikely characters, putting them together & creating a perfect partnership. Dylan & Bonnie actually played off each other's strong points to be a stronger couple. A characteristic of Ms. Lakes books is a strong & interesting supporting cast of characters. Tyson, a foster child, gave the story an added dimension & sense of lightness. This was another good book & I can't wait to see what's next!

The plot is a 21st century Cinderella fairy tale which by default lends itself to a syrupy sweet storyline and a "happily ever after" ending. To be fair, the story isn't bad, it's just very unimaginative. ½

The really liked the beginning of the story but the ending did nothing for the story. I honestly felt like I needed to write my own ending in my head just to feel like there was an actual ending. I did like both of the main characters and found the book an enjoyable read but it's not a book I would reread.

Ethan White is a billionaire with all the trappings that come with money, including an obsessed secretary. After a one night stand with Laura, Ethan's secretary managed to sabotage the start of the relationship. Now that Carter, Ethan's partner, wants to set up office in Colorado, maybe he can get Laura to listen to his explanation.

Laura Corbett manages a Colorado ranch for Carter Williamson, owner of W Motors. She was interested in a relationship with Ethan until his secretary told her a bunch of lies. Now, she's raising her two siblings after her parents were killed in a plane crash.
Ethan is back & is trying to explain what happened. Can she trust him? Is she sure she wants a relationship with him?

Romance, kids, attraction, sex & danger. What else does a book need? The characters are well developed & relatable. Laura & her siblings invoke your sympathy from the beginning. I enjoyed the interactions between Ethan & the kids. He seemed to relate to their feelings. The only issue I had was the reaction of Ethan's character to Laura & the kids fear of flying. This was the first time he didn't appear sympathetic. Overall, a good addition to the series!

Mia is a social worker that gets too close to her clients. She's doing everything she can to keep 3 siblings together when she gets a call. The boys have broken into a billionaire's ranch house & were caught. Can you convince him not to call the police?

Carter is receiving death threats because of his business. After a near miss from a car bomb, his head of security had him move out to his ranch in Colorado. He wasn't expecting two young boys to break in or have a young, attractive social worker. Can he get her to keep visiting the ranch?

This is a great love story with some danger & mystery thrown in. Mia & Carter are attracted to each other from the beginning. The journey to the HEA was interesting to read & it took some unexpected twists & turns. I loved the interactions between Carter & the kids. Another nice story from Krista Lakes!

This story is about a girl who recently graduated college and is looking for her first job. She has to learn to prioritize both her work and her social life. What will she choose? Her ideal job or her ideal mate? That stands to be the question and I suggest you read to find out. There are a few twists and turns and some interesting ones at that. This was my first book by Krista Lakes and I’d happily read more!

Definitely a Cinderella story worth reading, bitchy, greedy, evil step-mother included. Thankfully the step-sister isn’t even close to evil.

Yours Completely: A Cinderella Love Story is a very sweet story with no steam factor even though there is a bedroom seen. All Ella wants is to save her father’s dream, a dream she shared. The only thing in her way is her bitch of a step-mom who is determined to make Ella suffer. When Jace arrives, with a gaggle of females chasing him, for his sister’s wedding Ella’s life changes.

I have met my share of wicked bitch-mothers but man Delores takes wicked bitch to a diabolically nasty level for the sake of her own greed and jealousy, I really hate her.

I really liked how the author wrote the progression of Ella’s dream and how it shifted to include Jace. Ella is a strong selfless woman and I was impressed that she put up with the wicked bitch step-mother as long as she did. I think I would have told her to piss off long before Ella did.

When he meets Ella grooming the inn's horses, though, she leaves him breathless. Jace knows that he can't let her get away...

Ella McDaniels:
What starts as an almost-kiss in the barn ends up captivating Ella, even though she knows that the richly dressed Jace is out of her league. However, when he keeps showing up wherever she is, her attraction to him grows. And if she can outwit her wicked stepmother, she just might be able to dance with him at the wedding reception ball.
