Kurzbiographie
Hannah (Annie Gertrude) Gordon married Myer Jack Landa, an Anglo-Jewish writer, and became a writer under the pseudonym "Aunt Naomi." Together the couple published a number of novels and plays. Gertrude Landa wrote a children's column in the Jewish Chronicle and in 1919 published Jewish Fairy Tales and Legends, a book of 27 fairy tales based on characters in the Jewish Bible, Midrash, and Talmud. The stories tell of the boyish exploits of Abraham, Moses, and David, but also includes tales of higgledy-piggledy palaces, beggar kings, quarreling cats and dogs, water babies, magic red slippers, Alexander the Great, and a princess in the tower.

A lot of cute stories. Some of the stories feel like the equivalent of Bible fan fiction giving insight and fleshing out some of the characters, such as Abraham. This had the story of Abraham and smashing the idols. Also had a few others like one about David. It's good to help flesh out the characters.

Author is given as "Aunt Naomi" with Gertrude Landa in parentheses. A collection of stories based on the Talmud and Midrash about Biblical and historic people, including Abraham, Sarah, Moses, David, Rashi, Bostanai, Honi (called Rabbi Onais here), Og, and others. Abraham's early life---his coming to believe in God and not idols---is told.
