Mean-spirited short from the perspective of a terminally sick sadist who decides to use his final days to inflict as much pain and despondency as he can. Being forced into the mind of such a repellant and pathetic character is an uneasy experience, and Lawson manages to provide enough nuance to ensure the story doesn’t become solely an exercise in misery porn. A nasty short, designed for discomfort, well written, and effective in its exploration into the limits of twisted human psychology.
