Succinct description of LDS beliefs for informative purposes. Personal testimony of author, a past Solicitor General of the United States, and dean of BYU Law School.
Written by an LDS church member to explain the faith to those who are not LDS. The author's intent is not to convert the reader, but to provide a useful reference for those who are curious about this religion. As a Utah transplant myself, I recommend it for non-Mormons who relocate to areas with high LDS populations. It leaves a few questions unanswered, but it is a quick, easy-to-read primer on the topic.
