This new edition traces the impact of the first and two important law reforms which followed it: the broadening of the rules of evidence to make it easier to convict serial rapists who have been previously acquitted and legal moves to restrict sexual history evidence. Drawing on transcripts of recent rape trials she shows that the culture of the bar and unfairness in the rules of evidence remain barriers to reform.
