I loved book one and I felt bad for Brandi at her cousin's betrayal, as her hurt lasted for more than twenty years. I thought that her becoming an attorney and to become an advocate for black farmers who were swindled out of their farms commendable. I did understand that she kept to herself and never got close to a relationship with any man except her best friend Riddick Ruger, but when her ex calls her a bit*** in front of her best friend he goes ballistic! I did not like Byron taking advantage of Brandi and telling her not to go to college away from him. He was manipulating and took her love for him to the next level and then proposing to keep her there. NOW I WANT TO READ THE REST OF THE SERIES!!… (mehr)

We all face heartbreak and lies, but this time Raina vows to never get attracted to an African professor again after her lover lied to her. Raina is a high school teacher during the day and on Thursday nights she shares her poetry at The Shrine, a bar that she had opened for five years, but she has not finished her thesis as she is unsure of herself, but once her uncles pairs her up with the drunk who called her poetry garbage she is livid and throws her drink into his face! I like that Raina stood up for herself, but she needed a wake up call to get her act together and woman up! At first, I did not like Luke AT ALL, his brutal and crass wording of her poetry was uncalled for when he was the pot calling the kettle black. Luke was just as guilty as he was postponing his poetry book from being published after six years. Love & Lyrics is a romance that sizzled every time Luke and Raina got together.… (mehr)

I adored this novel, and loved that Nicole had the desire to fulfill her dreams of becoming a casting agent in Hollywood. Ray Baines had been her boyfriend and he helped her during her time of need when her parents had died in a car crash. Nicole was bi-racial and endured vicious hatred of her peers but she learned to fight back with her Judo training. When Ray was drafted by the LA Lakers, she thought that they were finally headed in the right directions, but he blew his ACLU and she helped him heal, but he moved back to South Carolina's low country. I thought that Ray should have expressed his intentions to Nicole, but at the first chance, he married his gold digger massage who chased him relentlessly. The marriage was doomed to failure as he still loved Nicole; and now all that he and Taylor shared was his daughter. Now he and Nicole had hooked up when she returned to help her friend, now she was pregnant by the man that she swore she'd never forgive!… (mehr)

Kiss of Life by Louise Lennox
A Kiawah Island Romance #2

Four women –
Forever friends –
THE Kiawah Kisses –
Symone, Tara, Kisha & Nicole –
This is Tara’s book.

Meet cutes are all different but the way Tara and Cameron is a bit messy ;) though definitely memorable. The prologue set the stage, the first chapter set up the fireworks and then what followed created a HEA for two people that would do much better together than apart. Were they alike? Not in personality but they were definitely two puzzle pieces that fit together.

What I liked:
* Visiting a place I have never been before
* Stepping into an own voices story that is not my own voice
* Looking up Gullah, Tacky, and a few other terms I had not heard before
* Thinking about how money would help in hurricane season…or any time at all
* Watching the dynamics between Cameron and Tara
* Getting a little bit of a feel for the three other women in the series
* What the H/h overcame
* Thinking about the two main characters lives before they met
* Wondering if the Midnight Raiders MC has a series of its own
* Knowing that Tara’s ex didn’t get away with all of his nefarious plans
* The way George was there for Tara
* The way the Kiawah Kisses were there for one another

What I didn’t like:
* How difficult the lives of Cameron and Tara were at times
*Jason – nothing nice about him at all!

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more by this author? I think so

Thank you to IndiePenPR for the ARC – This is my honest review.
