Good book on the history of the Effigy Mounds National Monument in Iowa. Could be a bit dry for those not extremely interested in History. If you are traveling to the Effigy Mounds Monument you should read the first couple of chapters and the final chapter which details the monument site and the highlights of what to expect on your visit.

For those that are more into History you'll enjoy the brief but comprehensive review of how the Effigy Mounds National Monument came to be and the walk through the history of cultures in Iowa that built the Effigy Mounds.

Overal a good book that is a good read prior to a visit to the National Monument site.… (mehr)
