Good book, though a little confusing at times. Mayor Judy of Hell, Texas, has big plans for her little town. It is heavy on the male side of the equation and hide-bound in its traditions. So, she hires three young women to be her "team" - train to be bullfighters and be the stars of the rodeo she wants the town to host. She plans to get the men of the Outlaw Training Center to train the women, but Trace, Saint, and Declan prove to be more resistant to the idea than she planned.

Ava has dreams of becoming a bullfighter. The only girl with five brothers, she was devastated when her brother Liam was injured because a bullfighter didn't do his job. She intends to do her best so that no other sister would suffer the same pain. She arrives in Hell with her teammates Harper and Cameron, only to discover that Judy has somewhat misled them.

Trace and his former SEAL brothers came home after their time in the military, looking forward to the peace of doing the work they love. They enjoy their free, bachelor ways and do their best to stay clear of Mayor Judy's hair-brained ideas. The arrival of the Hell Belles blindsides all three. Trace is the leader who considers all the risks before making a decision and refuses to consider training the team. There is a lot of push and pull between Trace, the mayor, and the team, as each tries to get their way.

I enjoyed seeing the relationship between Trace and Ava develop. The sparks between them are out of control from the very beginning. Trace is old-fashioned and believes there is an uncrossable line between men and women regarding rodeo. He is also very protective, which comes out when he thinks about Ava in the ring with bulls. Neither Trace nor Ava is looking for a relationship. Trace keeps his interactions superficial, while Ava is too focused on her goals to want the distraction. But keeping their hands off each other is nearly impossible and reconciling their attraction with their goals is an ongoing battle. Both Trace and Ava are stubborn to a fault, and admitting their feelings is something neither is willing to do.

When push comes to shove, Trace can't give in to Ava's desire for training or admit that he needs her. Ava gives up on getting through to him and goes elsewhere for her training, believing there is no future for them. Trace earned every bit of the misery he felt after she left town. It took drastic action by Saint and Declan to finally get through his thick head. I liked the ending and seeing them finally get what they both wanted.

There is lots of other stuff going on in Hell also. Judy has an ongoing feud with another woman, and Judy's man Steele, the sheriff, often gets caught in the middle. It also becomes evident that Judy has more than rodeo on her mind as she sets her matchmaking plans in motion. The other two Belles are intended for Saint and Declan, and it is interesting to see the beginnings of their relationships. The Outlaws' rivals, the Horsemen, also play a significant role in the book, most notably as the ones who should not be training anyone. In one scene, the Horsemen pull a dangerous trick that could have gone horribly wrong and feel no remorse over it. I cheered at Trace's reaction and what he did. It will be interesting to see how things play out in the following books.

Last of the Red-Hot Riders was fun, sexy, entertaining escapism. Cameron was a woman after my own heart. She knew what she wanted, knew what she had to do to get it and gave her all in whatever she did. Saint came across as a sexist jerk but I feel that he did respect the fact that Cameron was rough and tough, she could handle whatever he threw her way. That's probably what ultimately attracted him to her. In order to fulfill her dreams and secure her future Cameron would give her all and if she managed to fall for a reforming jerk- So be it. Enjoyable story, with a cute twist of anything you can do I can do to. Loved it. I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Family of a Bull Rider is an emotional story. Jack has been estranged from his jerk of a father for years when he is summoned home. His father's health is failing. Jack now has to figure out if he should help his father or leave the stress behind. Helping him along the way is Cricket, a local deacon who has always had feelings for Jack. But when an unexpected pregnancy happens will Jack be able to leave behind the rodeo life and be a better father than his own ever was? A heartbreaking story to read at times and a frustrating one because of the stubborn personalities of the main characters. Still I would recommend to anyone who enjoys reading Tina Leonard. Received this book for an honest review.

Heart of a Bull Rider is about so much more than the standard love story. Tina Leonard allows us into the world of not only the citizens of fictional No Chance. She allows us to experience first hand the reunion of brothers John and Jake. Neither has known the other ever existed. Opposites John is a wealthy billionaire intent on making changes to the hometown and rodeo of Jake who is a bull rider. These two now not only have to build a relationship with each other but they also each have their hearts set on local hometown girls. They also have to find answers to why they were separated in the first place. A unique story about coming home to a place that you never knew you left and finding out who you really are. Great book with a beautiful message. Received this book for an honest review.

Tina Leonard's Callahan series is a favorite of mine. It is enjoyable to see the concept of a close knit family still exists even if in a fictional setting. A Callahan Christmas Miracle is a story of growth and understanding on the part of both characters. With a little mystery, a lot of heart and the guidance of family-the miracle of love came shining through. A Callahan Christmas Miracle proves anything is possible if the heart is open. Fell totally in love with Creed and Aberdeen's story. One Wild Bull Rider is part of Tina Leonard's Callahan series. Creed leaves home and returns to the rodeo circuit determined not to fall victim to his aunt's matchmaking. Returning home because of an injury, he meets Aberdeen who is the town preacher and seeking to adopt her three nieces. I found it hilarious that he ran away from home to escape matchmaking and fell into it's trap upon his return. A sweetly written story. Received this book for an honest review.

The Bull Rider's Twins is a Callahan series reissue. I had read the book in the past, but it is always nice to reread a story and discover thing that may not have been noticed the first time around. Judah and Darla have always carried secret feelings for each other. When one unexpected night leads to two unplanned for surprises, Judah has to decide if he is ready to give up his wild ways and Darla has to decide if she is willing to deviate for a practical planning and take a chance on love. I have always loved Tina Leonard's ability to create stories that center around home, hearth and small towns. Received this book for an honest review. Worth rediscovering this series.

Eh.
If the second novel in this book had related to the 1st novel, I might have had more interest in actually reading the 2nd novel but ... it's a completely different story and since the first novel ended with such a false and rosy ending, I don't have any interest in reading the second novel.

The first novel is about a "rebel" cowboy who doesn't seem to be much of a "rebel cowboy" falling in love with a short chic with 4 daughters (who may be 4 months old or 4 days old -- it's hard to tell and they're not written clearly and never ever age or progress in their development, even though they're infants and infants develop quicker than this poorly written story progressed ... ).

The next story looked to be about a guy who lost his first wife and gets his second wife from surrogacy for the remaining two daughters he has on ice.

This author might have a fetish about pregnancy, which, unfortunate, is never even touched on in the writing because the sex that does happen is beyond vanilla.

bought because the excerpt at the end of a different book caught my attention. Not worth it. Apparently the Callahan's are matchmakers and make sure Gage is caught by the Irish miss; In Texas Lullaby, I think this is supposed to be the first in a series of the Morgan brothers being summoned home and getting married, with the bridge hand picked for them by Dad.

I have not read previous books in this series and that may have been a detriment since there are a lot of Callahans to keep track of. I sort of felt thrown into the series without a clear picture of what was going on. Apparently there were three brothers--two good guys and one black sheep. The two good guys and their wives have gone into hiding (possibly witness protection) and the black sheep is searching for them. The children of the two good brothers come together to try to keep the land of their fathers safe.

I enjoyed most of the banter between the siblings. I did not enjoy the mysticism-like parts of their abilities/family nor the fact that Sloan and Kendall slept together first and seem to rush their marriage because she gets pregnant with the titular twins. I am glad that the author portrayed Kendall as a capable woman who doesn't rely on Sloan for everything, including protection. I am glad that they decide to work on their relationship rather than just divorcing.

In the case of His Callahan Bride’s Baby by Tina Leonard, the time seemed to stretch forever (in reality it was about 2 hours), and I don’t think I really understood much of the story. To be fair, this is book ten of the Callahan Cowboys series in the American Romance line. However, I think …Read More

if you like short, superficial, non emotional, no conflict, little character development then this is the short story for you. our heroine loses her virginity in a matter of seconds, has sex in multiple locations in the house and the male is none the wiser...then with a rush to the HEA she jumps on the back of his motorcycle and leave town, her family and her boarding house behind.

Carolyn annoyed me. Breaking up with Ben because she can't have children and not telling him. That was stupid. Maybe he wouldn't have stayed, but she should have given him the choice. And the way she accepted Vivian Benton's statement that you can't love a child you didn't give birth to. Also Marissa say Carolyn couldn't understand because she had never given birth. A stepmother or adopted mother can love a child. Some birth mothers don't love their children. Yes it is not the same to adopt or be a step parent as it is to be a birth parent. But that doesn't mean you can't truly love the child.

We're back in Hell! Texas, of course. With another fun story with one very hot cowboy, and one very sassy cowgirl determined to to make it as a bull rider. The first step she needs to realize her ultimate dream. Saint and Cameron are both strong, passionate characters and it was fun to watch has their wills collide. It makes for some great sexy times! While I did enjoy the core story, I found some of the secondary stories a little distracting and I'm not sure they added all that much to the book overall. If you're looking for a light read that will keep you entertained, then this book is perfect.

Having lived in Texas for more than a few years, and having spent summer vacations there during my "formative" years, I'm sure I've met these characters more than once in my half-century of living, and I must say, I love them as much today as I did the first time I ever threw my hand over my mouth to keep from giggling out loud.

This is a fun-filled and fanciful book that begins the Pecan Creek series with a town full of nuts and more than a few pecans to boot! It is a hilariously fun look at small-town Texas, and kept me on my toes trying to imagine what the Cassavechia women would come up with next.

Totally loveable and highly recommended!

Fun book. Mackenzie is the single mother of four infant girls. She needs a ranch foreman to help get the ranch in shape for possible sale. Her childhood friend, Ty, sends Justin her way, but Ty has more than the ranch in mind. He thinks the former bull rider would be a perfect husband for her. But neither Mackenzie or Justin have marriage on their minds.

Mackenzie is in no hurry to marry again after her husband fled from the responsibilities of four babies. She feels that she is just fine on her own, with a little help from her friends. However, she can't deny that Justin's presence makes things easier. He's really sweet with her babies, and a strong support against those who want her ranch. She's attracted to him, but he's made no secret of his plans to stay single.

Justin is in no hurry to settle down. He enjoyed his travels with the rodeo, and now that he can't do that any longer he has to figure out what to do with the rest of his life. Helping out on the Hanging H is a good start. Discovering that his buddy Ty was actually setting him up should have made him mad, but he found himself pretty content with his situation. His attraction to Mackenzie is another reason to stick around.

I enjoyed seeing the relationship develop between Justin and Mackenzie. She's cautious about risking her heart again, but Justin's way with her girls has her walls coming down pretty quickly. She's very independent, but Justin has a way of offering help without making her feel helpless. I liked how he tried to fight his feelings, but jealousy of Ty's other cowboy helpers kept him from leaving. He was also really sensitive to the way she felt about the ranch, and helped her find a way to hang on to it. Both of them fought admitting their feelings, but a showdown with the town bad girl and interference from the town matchmakers had it all coming out. The race at the end was fun, especially with the various shenanigans provided by Ty's friends and Daisy''s posse.

The secondary characters are all great additions. Ty's friends are fun with their attempts to make Justin jealous, and then their own growing involvements with the town. Bad girl Daisy is a real piece of work, and I enjoyed seeing Mackenzie's sister take her on. The matchmaking magic of Bridesmaids Creek is interesting and it's fun to see its influence on the townspeople and the newcomers.

I found this book to be a quick, fun, sweet, charming read. I liked both Daisy and John. They made a cute couple. In addition, I thought they were both equally matched. Daisy could stay on her own two feet even if all her guy friends thought that she needed the extra protection (from John).

There was some witty banter to be had in this book as well. Which kept things entertaining and helped move the story along. Also the more I got to know of the people of Bridesmaids Creek the more that I liked the town and the people who resided there. I will have to check out the other books in this series. However if you are looking for a fun book to read than you should check this one out.

Good conclusion to the series. In previous books, Daisy has been known as the "Diva of Destruction". She's the daughter of the town's richest man and has always been a bit of a wild child. At the end of the last book she had left town to visit a friend in Montana, trying to come to terms with the trouble she had caused and what she could do to fix it.

She was followed up there by John, who has been in love with her for several years. He's finally convinced her to come back home. He's given up trying to convince her that he loves her, in spite of the fact that they had made love in a weak moment. He plans to give up on that dream and hit the rodeo circuit, or get a job teaching ROTC somewhere. Whatever will take him away from Bridesmaids Creek and his heartbreak.

Daisy had been trying to use the town's matchmaking magic to win herself a husband, but she'd had her eye on the wrong man, ignoring the one that was in love with her. By the time she realized that he was the one she loved, he was gone and she needs to find a way to get him back. She wants to show him that she's come to her senses at last. But the whole reunion thing didn't go quite as she expected, and between his new reluctance to restart their relationship and a wild trip to Vegas with their friend Sam, Daisy is left really confused. She takes off to try to figure things out.

Things start to get pretty wild. John realizes that he really is still in love with Daisy. Her pregnancy is just extra motivation to get her to marry him. He's never really believed in the whole magic thing that the town claims, but those that do try to convince him. When Daisy comes back, John immediately proposes to her, but now she is the one who is holding back. First, she doesn't want John to feel that he's been trapped into marrying her. Second, he's always been a rolling stone, and she has trouble believing that he would be happy settling down.

There is also Daisy's belief that her actions have ruined the matchmaking magic for the town. She won't marry John until she finds a way to fix it. She deeply believes in that magic and wants it for herself and her marriage to John, worried that without it their marriage won't last. When she ends up on bed rest waiting for the triplets to be born, she finds the perfect solution, one that was a bit of a surprise but turned out to be just right for her.

All John really wants is to get Daisy married to him any way he can manage it. He knows that the Bridesmaids Creek legends are important to her, so he takes some steps to do something about it. He is determined on this course, even though she tries to convince him that it isn't needed. It was pretty funny to see him ignore everything people tried to tell him, certain that he was doing the right thing. Of course, it all works out in the end. There was also a neat twist for the guy who pooh-poohed the whole Bridesmaids Creek legend and ends up being a part of it himself.

Here we go again back to the town of Hell with the Outlaws, and this time it's Saint and Cameron's story. Saint has been asked to train Cameron to Bullfight and also take care of the kissing booth with her for the towns parade, he's not to happy with the idea, because frankly a woman shouldn't be Bullfighting, it's too dangerous, and no one should be kissing her........except him.
Cameron really want's to train, but doesn't know if working so close to the super handsome Hell's Outlaw Saint is a good idea, she's really attracted to him and doesn't know how long she can keep her hands off him.

This was a great addition to the Hell's Outlaws series, it has a great romance with plenty of hot, steamy love scenes, we meet again characters from the previous book who add a little mystery and interest to the story, and a great plot line with a little added fun.
I'm loving this series and just can't wait to read Harper and Declan's story next.

This is a bit different to the more traditional romantic fiction in so much as that instead of a weak female, we have a former navy Seal who is an Alpha male, chauvinistic and weak willed were women are concerned and a feisty woman, wanting to do a traditionally man’s job. Instead of being a strong cowboy we get a melodramatic, winey goat herder. The poor female protagonist did not know which way was up. In short these characters were focused on what they wanted and they were each as stubborn as the proverbial mule and I just wanted to knock some sense into them.

I really wanted to like the characters but they did not interest me in the least; the story was rather too flat for my tastes and whatever hotness was there was a huge let down.

There were so many minor characters that it was easy to lose track of who was who and what their intentions were. I think even the author lost track of what she was making her characters do or say as in a few places the novel was contradictory for example when Trace says that buck sliced him with a broken bottle and wold limp for a week and then later Trace tells Buck if he finds out who did it he would go after them.

There are just too many things happening which is a great foil to be explored in later books in the series. However, this reader found the whole thing very clichéd, disappointingly predictable and the verbal discourse between the characters was worth of a very poor soap opera. I found the couple’s sexual encounters a huge let down too. This was my first book by this author and sadly it will be my last.

Although this book wasn’t for me; if you like a light read for taking to the beach or to while away rainy or snowy days then this may be one for you.

Full Disclosure: ARC received from Netgalley for an honest review.

Book Description...

What else can a fiery redhead do but let her hair down and give in to desire hot enough to melt her saddle?

Saint has seen what happens when women come marching into the Hell’s Outlaws Training Center: Strong men crumble. Problem is, he’s got rivals willing to train a talented lady rider like Cameron. But after one night of passion, he’s branded. And from the moment he kisses her ruby lips, Cameron is his—even if he’s too stubborn to admit it. Now Saint must stake his claim on a life of delicious sin with the woman he loves."

"Last Of The Red-Hot Riders" by Tina Leonard

What I liked from this novel...

This turned out to be a interesting read by this author featuring Cameron Dix and Saint Markham. I will say I had to read a few chapters to get into what all was being presented. Saint likes Cameron and she likes him too so what is really the problem? From the read you see there will be many twist and turns in this read as the secondary characters will become a great part to this read. We find from the read that Cameron has only one thing on her mind and that is become a professional rodeo rider and hopefully that will help her to be able to open up her riding school for special needed ones....like her brother. Saint being a ex Navy Seal only has eyes for Saint and wants nothing to do with helping her train for a rodeo rider. Now, to fully understand all that is going on in Hell, Texas you will have to pick up the read to see what all this author presents to the reader in this novel. Be ready for a little bit of it all from his ex Navy Seal friends[lots of tensing], a mayor, sheriff and other characters from this read that will keep you turning the pages. Even family members of the two main characters will play parts in this read. One thing that is for sure you will have one interesting read where sparks will fly after all is said and done. I will say I was able to laugh all the way through the read at some of the things that went on from Saint his friends and even with Cameron which really helped keep the read moving for me because at time the read seemed somewhat slow but it does pick up if you stick with the read. This is the second series from this author with the first read being about Trace and Ava, this one being about Saint and Cameron and I guess the next series we will get some more interesting characters...maybe Harper and Declan.. So, if you are looking for a good hot cowboy and a sexy cowgirl read you have come to the right place for "Last Of The Red Hot Riders" will give it to you.

Okay book. I liked the general premise of the story. Local legend has paired Cisco up with one woman, but his heart is set on another. Suz also wants him, but going against town tradition is likely to stir up trouble, and does. They have to figure out how to have what they want without ruining the lives of others.

I mostly liked Cisco. He loves Suz and no matter what the silly local legend says, Suz is the only one he will marry. He is determined to have her, and makes it plain to Daisy (the other woman) that he's not interested. Daisy is more than a bit spoiled and headstrong, and threatens to make life miserable for others if he doesn't fall into line. One of his friends is in love with Daisy, so Cisco does his best to throw things his way, but Daisy isn't cooperating. He goes ahead and secretly marries Suz, hoping that will be the end of it.

Unfortunately, it just makes Daisy angrier, and she gets her father to help her get revenge. He has been buying up land all over town, and with Daisy's encouragement starts foreclosure proceedings on Suz's family ranch. He also ruins the businesses of others in town, and threatens to sell land to the government for a toxic waste dump. Suz feels that it is all her and Cisco's fault and tells him to leave town until things quiet down.

This is where she really made me mad. Suz was far more concerned with Daisy's feelings and what she was doing than in making her marriage to Cisco work. She sends him off, telling him not to come back until she tells him to. When she discovers she's pregnant, she doesn't tell him, feeling it's more important to keep the peace in town. Cisco just wants to take care of her and the babies and she keeps shutting him down.

Cisco had kept one secret from her, and when he finally tells her about his family background she freaks out. He doesn't have much to do with them, so feels that it shouldn't affect their lives. Suz doesn't agree. Suddenly all she can think about is that she isn't good enough for him, even though he's made it clear over and over that he loves her. He offers to help out with the ranch troubles, and she won't even accept that.

I liked the way that everything turned out, and was happy to see Suz's attitude change, Even Daisy does some growing up and I am now looking forward to her story.
