Burt Levy knows American sports car racing very well, having been involved in sports cars and SCCA racing since his twenties. He captures the feel and details of the postwar road racing start-up in the US. He is not really a novelist but is a great story teller. I'm not sure non-sports car folks will follow it, but if you have any interest in the MG's, Jaguars, Triumphs and such, you will enjoy it. I certainly did, and I'm a pretty serious fiction reader. This is the first of a four book series.
